# Assets

The Assets section in Kiho brings together all of your organization’s vehicles, machinery, and other assets, including general details, maintenance history, costs, permissions, and tags. This guide will show you how to use the asset list, asset cards, and related features in your daily operations..

### Who this guide is for

This guide is intended for anyone who manages assets in Kiho: asset managers, those logging maintenance, and administrators who maintain asset types and permissions.

### Basic concepts

- **Asset** – an individual vehicle, machine, or device registered in the system with its own asset card.
- **Asset type** – the category an asset belongs to (e.g., passenger car, truck, heavy machinery). The asset type determines which additional fields are displayed for that asset.
- **Asset card** – the details page for an individual asset, containing general details as well as tabs for maintenance, costs, users, inventory, and lease agreements (if applicable).
- **Maintenance entry** – a log entry for a maintenance action performed or scheduled for an asset.
- **Tag (NFC/QR)** – a physical tag used to identify an asset, for example, in the mobile app.

### What this guide covers

This guide walks you from the asset list and individual asset cards through system maintenance (asset types and fields), maintenance entries, tags, permissions, as well as leasing, cost, and reporting features. Asset-related work orders and their calendar view are documented separately in the work order instructions.
